International Bedding Demonstrating Excellent Growth And Progress In 2009

Ft. Lauderdale, Florida – April 27, 2009 – Despite today’s challenging economic environment, International Bedding reported that first quarter results were well ahead of budget. This positive trend can be attributed to several factors including the growth of sales and market share with the company’s major retail partners. Additionally, the introduction of the new IB Classic Collection of value priced, fashion forward mattresses featuring a wide range of comfort choices as well as the integration of environmentally safe, natural bedding technologies has enabled International Bedding to consistently outperform the industry.

The members of the senior management team recently celebrated their one year “team” anniversary. This time together has resulted in increased teamwork and productivity throughout the organization. As a result, IB has achieved improvements in manufacturing efficiency, product quality and dealer service. These improvements have enabled the company to strengthen its position as an industry leader in product quality, value and consumer satisfaction.  The benefit of these improvements is being realized by IB retailers as they enjoy increasing sales, high retail margins and low return rates.

IB recently introduced its “Classic Collection” national bedding line with value price points starting at $199 for a queen set. Most models feature a fully foam encased innerspring support system, premium foam comfort layers and upscale, designer fabrics.  Additionally, IB has expanded its Origins specialty bedding line with the new Genesis latex beds and the Luminous visco beds which deliver high retail margins at price points ranging from $799 to $1199.

IB is also committed to addressing environmental and ecological resource issues in its day to day business operations as well as in the end products they present to retailers and consumers.  The company is working in partnership with its vendors to expand its use of natural, renewable and earth friendly bedding components. IB recently incorporated soy into all foam core products which are PBDE and CFC free and fully recyclable. The use of organic cotton and bamboo fabrics is also being increased and more natural latex products that use less petro chemical based synthetic latex will soon be added to the company’s product portfolio.
